I’ve been somewhat quiet of late. Can you guess why?
Yep ( I knew you would by the way).
Just like most of the world life turned upside down back in March when the full extent of the Covid-19 pandemic hit. I received a sudden “promotion” to a year 1 and year 4 teaching assistant. I say assistant because, quite honestly, I’m simply trying to implement the work that the significantly more qualified teachers at our school had set.
I say “promotion” as I feel it would be rude to say “demotion” (from freelance marketing consultant) as I’ve always known teachers don’t have it easy. Nor do their assistants. That is when the teachers are lucky enough to have assistants.
Anyway, that’s another conversation for another day.
And (if you stuck with it this far) you may well be thinking how this rambling intro links to GREAT email communication? Well your reward is a few paragraphs down. Patience is a virtue remember?

I was chatting to a long-standing (longest in fact) client today about his business and how he’s doing during lockdown. Needless to say he’s finding it tough. Business is down 20%. But, he’s churning out lots of creative ideas.
Fabulous. A marketeer’s dream!
One of his new products is life coaching for members of a particular industry sector. We agreed on a bit of a contra-deal and I’ll be enjoying the benefits of his life coaching next week. During our conversation I mentioned I’d lost my mojo recently.
Lost my special creative spark.
We agreed this was something we would address. Great, “tick” I thought. Something on my list I need to sort out. However, two separate marketing email communications I received today prematurely reignited that elusive spark.
This blog post is really a big thank you to the business owners who are responsible. Hidden behind a “meaningful” but appropriate blog title about great email communication.
So – thanks wellbalanced Jen for your brilliant newsletter email. I have clearly signed up for the naughty, sweary amusletter as well as the businessey one.
And – thanks David of BAM bamboo clothing for your honest and heart felt face mask email offer and follow up.
You’ve inspired me. I wish you both ongoing business success. Because, frankly, if you can communicate like that you’ll do GREAT.
